Business Fire Safety Awareness Tool - An interactive tool to help small business owners understand their legal duties for fire safety in the workplace.

Project contracted by the NFCC - National Fire Chiefs Council from the United Kingdom. The purpose of the project is to deliver a usable training tool that covers fire safety matters and serves as guidance, specifically for the owners and employees of small businesses, through the means of gamification.

I joined a team of artists as the only programmer, and together we created this gamified experience for small business owners and employees, thus delivering a more interactive way of keeping up to date with essential fire safety regulations.

Users are given a list of tasks to be completed within the 3D space. The tasks are related to fire safety regulations. Each interaction in the scene, upon completion, brings up a quiz with a question related to the action that has just been completed.

The project was supported with a database by Eyecademy Ltd., allowing the creation of user profiles, as well as monitoring user progress, success rate, and time taken to complete the given tasks.

The NFCC placed Runner Up or the "Innovation Award" at the Regulatory Excellence Awards 2022 by the Office of Product & Safety Standard for the BFSAT project.

The development team and BFSAT were nominated for Student Changemaker of the Year within the University of Northampton's Changemaker Awards 2022.
